It is able to take large objects and doesn't lose suction as quickly as some others do, and it can even clean up pet hair with ease. It's not the best time with high-pile or plush carpet, but iRobot claims it will improve in the future with new models. The S9+ features a new design from iRobot that is focused on improving edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted D-shaped design, which it hopes will allow it to be able to swaddle walls and furniture. It's a great improvement over the standard hockey puck shape of the majority of robovacs. However, we found it to be incrementally better than circular models. iRobot also claims the S9+ comes with an advanced filtering system that stops tiny dust particles and allergens from recirculating within your home. It's a nice claim, however, we're not convinced that it's enough to justify the premium price cost. Its smart navigation system employs a combination of sensors to keep track of your home's layout, and vSLAM technology to map your interior. This allows it to avoid obstacles, like staircases and other barriers, and to tidy up your entire home in the most efficient manner possible. Its two lowest mopping modes that are less abrasive than the higher-powered ones produce little noise, allowing you to work or even watch TV without interruption. If it comes into contact with an object, such as a wall or piece of furniture, it gently bumps into it before moving on. The Q Revo is unique in that it runs almost entirely on its own, requiring only minimal user involvement.
